An inspired hundred from New Zealand’s captain, Ross Taylor, helped the visitors to a commanding first innings total of 365 in the 2nd Test match against India in Bangalore.
Taylor won the toss on a flat pitch and chose to bat first, although that decision was looking shaky as New Zealand slumped to 3-89 before a 100-run partnership with Daniel Flynn helped steady the ship.
By stumps on Day 1, Taylor finished with 113 off only 127 deliveries, including 16 fours and 2 sixes. It was a masterful display from the Team GM star.
Whether his captain’s innings will be enough to secure a series-levelling win for his country iis yet to be known. Stay tuned.
