Adam Voges

Australia

Adam Voges is another promising Australian young talent who plies his trade with Western Australia, who have provided a steady stream of Australian Test players in recent history with the likes of Justin Langer, Adam Gilchrist and Mike Hussey as prime example. Voges looks set to make the step up eventually, although he still has some way to go. He was called up to the Test squad during the last Ashes series, but didn't get a game.

His international debut came in the Chappell-Hadlee series that followed, where he hammered 16 not out from ten balls. A useful off-spinner, on that day, his three overs disappeared for 33 runs, but he can be relied on as a useful partnership breaker otherwise.

He has scored over 2000 first-class runs with a top score of 180 and an average just shy of 40. His one-day stats are more impressive, nearly 1500 runs at an average of over 44 and he has also spent time captaining his state side and also enjoyed a short spell at Hampshire in 2007.
